The School – Fairmount Academy
Fairmount Academy is a school affiliated to The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.
The school provides a learner friendly environment.
Facilities
All classrooms are air-conditioned. Presentations, audio-visual clippings, movies and documentaries are used extensively to support
the curriculum of the school. Each class has dedicated AV facilities for this purpose.
We have a well stocked library with books on a variety of subjects. Students are encouraged to use the library facility for all their research projects
and journal work. Weekly library sessions include activities and book discussions along with book reviews by the students.
The school has well equipped Physics, Biology and Chemistry labs. To inspire young minds, students from Grade 5
onwards are taken for experiment sessions to the labs.
Computer Technology and its applications are introduced to the students from Preschool years.
Grade 1 onwards all computer classes are conducted in the Computer lab.
Movies, documentaries related to curriculum are viewed by students as part of their curricular process.
The Movie Club also conducts its sessions through the week regularly.
Special play zone for the Pre-primary students allows for the toddlers to experience free play.
Gross motor skills are developed with Sand play as part of the curricular program.
Warm, healthy meals are provided at school. The School PTA is very active in overseeing the maintenance of health and hygiene standards by the caterer.
Counselor Room, Medical Room
The School has an in-house Counselor to support the development needs of special students. The Medical Room is the School’s infirmary
and provides a rest zone for students. A qualified medical practitioner is attached to the School for attending to student illness.
The School has also got a long standing association with Hinduja Hospital for all emergency cases.
Activities
Tennis, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Yoga, Gymnastics, Athletics: The School encourages various sports as part of its holistic growth program.
The students are trained in special groups on Saturdays for inter-school and district/state level competitions in these sports.
The school holds hobby clubs of book reviews, elocution, movie appreciation.
Serving the Local Community and contributing as a conscientious citizen is an integrated part of the School’s values. Students are encouraged to
take on Peer Teaching, extending teaching support to BMC schools, collection drives for orphanages, old age homes and hospitals.
There are weekly competitions conducted to provide a platform for students to display talent. Each Housemaster or mistress
takes effort to train students of their house in upcoming competitions. There are several School events apart from the Annual Concert
where students have the opportunity to exhibit their knowledge skills to large gatherings.
